Windows Software Licenses
The University of Delaware has an agreement with Microsoft to allow a selection of Microsoft software to be installed on all University-owned computers. Our Microsoft agreement includes:
- an upgrade license for Windows 10 Enterprise, Windows 8.1 Enterprise & Windows 7 Enterprise,
- and the Microsoft Enterprise Client Access License (CAL) Suite.
Detailed information about the software and our licensing agreement can be found on our Microsoft Volume Licensing Enrollment for Education Solutions
These Microsoft product licenses are for installation on all University-owned computers ONLY. You may NOT use these licenses on personally-owned computers.
Software for installation on personal machines for University work-related purposes are on our Microsoft Work at Home pages

Our current version of McAfee VirusScan, 8.8 patch level 8, is incompatible with the Windows 10 Creators Update (March 2017, version 1703) release. Further, trying to patch McAfee after
you have upgraded to the Windows 10 Creators Update does not work. The only current scenario that works is that you must patch VirusScan 8.8 to patch level 9 BEFORE upgrading to Windows 10, version 1703. We plan on making a standalone executable version of VirusScan 8.8 patch 9 that works with Windows 10 Creator Update available by May 11.
