University of Delaware students, faculty, and staff can download software licensed for their use from UDeploy.

NV5 Geospatial ENVI + IDL

Overview

ENVI is an application for geospatial image processing, visualization, and analysis. IDL is an interactive scientific language, often used for developing visualizations from complex data.

All faculty and staff are required to pay to use a license for a single seat of ENVI and IDL. Payments are made through the Request for Service - IT Software Licenses webform which lists the current cost. UDel licenses the software by the number of maximum concurrent seats. Your payment helps to cover the cost of the site license, which minimizes per-unit costs.

License Restrictions

By downloading Harris Geospatial software, you confirm that you have read and will comply with the following:
  • Labs: ENVI and IDL are licensed by the number of maximum concurrent seats. Labs should pay for each workstation where the software is installed, since all machines may be used simultaneously.
  • Individuals: An individual who has the software installed on an office machine, a home machine, and a laptop should only pay for one seat, since they will not be using all machines simultaneously. We ask that licensees use their best judgment on the numbers of seats they require, according to the honor system.
  • All: Upon processed payment, you will be provided with License Server information. A new server is online each academic year. Licenses must be renewed annually*.

Please contact askIT@udel.edu for additional clarification.

*Licenses run for an academic year. The cost per license is the same throughout the year, regardless of when purchased. There is no partial-year credit available.
